A Day of Fun, Community, and Hope
Thank you to everyone who joined us on September 7th for our 4th Annual PFIC Charity Open & Labor Day Party at Redpoint BBQ in the Red River Gorge! This year’s event brought together a full day of community, competition, and celebration to support families affected by progressive familial cholestasis (PFIC), a rare genetic liver disease.
- PDGA-sanctioned XC-Tier disc golf tournament
- Cornhole tournament for teams of all skill levels
- Regional Artists Gallery, featuring curated work from local RRG artists
- Maker’s Mark & Ale-8 Cocktail Hour
- Family Fun activities including henna, hair tinsel, chair massages, a photobooth, and reptiles
- Live music from Turtle Mountain and Hancock & Shouse
- Raffles and prizes throughout the evening
Thanks to the generosity of everyone who played, sponsored, volunteered, and showed up, we raised over $26,000 for PFIC Network to support our work, advocating for PFIC families and more research towards a cure. We’re grateful to the Red River Gorge community — locals, sponsors, volunteers, and visitors alike — for showing up year after year for a rare disease community many of you may never meet in person. This event simply doesn’t happen without you.

About Our Cause
What is PFIC?
Progressive familial intrahepatic cholestasis (PFIC) is a group of rare genetic disorders that can lead to liver failure during childhood. While the exact prevalence is unknown, PFIC is estimated to affect 1 in 50,000-100,000 people worldwide. There is currently no cure for PFIC. Many PFIC patients receive liver transplants to help manage their disease.
